Casino - Who plays and what do you play?

Recommended Posts

So last couple weeks been going to Crown Casino in the gamblers section for the first time in 20 years.

A mate of mine insisted we play Baccarat, so after a an hour of learning how to play and watching closely I decided to play.

$15 buy in table which turned into $400, pretty pleased with that.

After that went and played more, for fun of course! Lost a little but wasn't a big deal ($50 loss)

I know it's addicting and I set a limit to my self, put my cash in my car and walk in with what I'd be happy to lose with if I did, and not to get greedy is the best way I play.

So who goes and plays? Either for fun or professional?

What games do you play? I don't know how to play poker, or roulette or anything else but baccarat lol.

What's your biggest win?

What's your biggest lose?

Who can't play at all because you get addicted?

One of my best mates went in for the first time as well and couldn't leave, he had to come out with something even after losing heaps.

Good thread... I too and a newbie and just recently started going with a mate as he was just upgraded to Gold at Crown. Free drinks in that section so can't complain.

I only play small, but it's getting pretty addictive lol... I won $200 about 3 weeks ago, but then lost $300 the week after and haven't been back since because of that. I can see why people do get addicted.

Roulette playing the 2 to 1 boxes, Baccarat, and sometimes Black Jack.

I feel at home when I'm at Crown with all the uncle and aunties

Cheers,

Andy

Yeah Andy I felt crap when I lost for the first time.

But I thought, hey it's a one off thing, it's not a big loss, I can walk out losing only a little and not my house/car etc.

Won't stop me from going back lol

I went saturday night again just to pass time while we waited for other mates to arrive in the city. Put down $15 on a table, I said If I win/lose I'll walk out straight away.

Lost and walked out lol

There are some dudes there who play big, especially the Asians, they throw down cash like no tomorrow!!!!!!!!! High rollers and they don't give a shit!!

only ever played poker at the cas. was a good place to start, $40 buy in, played 2/2 tables. taught me how to play, didn't lose a huge amount of money, had a couple of wins, probably broke even in the end.

too many people there though, and waiting times are annoying, but was a good place to start due to ease of leaving the game when i want etc, but essentially the games never end, so you'll always end up worse off.

have since moved onto private games with a club, blinds increase every 17 minutes, no ante until the 4th or 5th increase. alot more relaxed and fun, smaller amount of people makes it more personal. came 2nd in my first club match, so got my money back plus a bit more.

1st place win is around $200-$300, depending on how many players and if anyone buys back in, so not a bad amount for a couple of hours of fun.

best part about a club is that eventually you get down to 1 on 1, which is where the real poker skills come out.

I like to sit on the majors. Most I've won was $600 on the shogun returns.

Love the roulette table to. Easy to win big money.

Gonna get flamed for being negative.

But I've been into the casino a few times and never got into it. Won a $100 on my first time there which was good but I still hated everything about it.

I'm the opposite.

Hate lotto. Never win anything from there.

At least with baccarat theres 50/50 chance of doubling every time.

Craps, I rock at it. Turned $115 into $2000 in about 1.5 hours.

The dealers and security now know me by name, and watch everything f**king thing I do, shits me.

Every time I'm in Melbourne I hit the Crown. Such a good casino! They have one of the best games that is only at Crown.

casino war is one of the easiest table games you will ever play.

Casino War is one of the easiest table games you will ever play, and work’s as follows:

- One card is dealt to each player on the table and one to the dealer

- If your card is a higher value than the Dealer’s, you Win!

- If your card is the same value as the Dealer’s, you get the chance to ‘Go to War’ and try to beat the Dealer with a second card (Double or nothing)

Best game you will ever play. So easy and so much fun. I have never walked out with less then double the money i started with on Casino Wars.

How do you play craps?

I heard it's as good as baccarat. The only thing I dislike about baccarat is when I go into the casino and the % are equal.

Banker 44% player 45%

I never place a bet when It's like that, unless it's player with 70+% and banker on 30-% then I play.

I used to love the casino had a few big wins aswell as alot of big losses.

The biggest win I had was with a couple of mates in Vegas. Playing craps had a mate roll for something like 55 minutes straight without hitting a 7. Won us around $6500 but also won around another $20,000 for the table. Had a massive crowd watching and even had a little song we'd sing before each roll which some of the bystanders started joining in on. Dealer told us in all his time working there (like 20 years or something) he'd only ever seen one longer streak and that was around 1hr 5 mins.

Consequently the next night I lost 5 grand :(

always hit Crown when I'm I'm Melb with the boys as we either stay at towers or metropol for accomidation, and always been up not a whole lot like 150-200 usually win on the roulette.

MAIN and most important reason why we're there is the Mahogany Room!!! this is where highrollers play and you get FREE DRINKS and FOOD!!!

hit up some henny and coke or whatever you fancy and munch on some dumplings befor you hit the clubs all FREE can't go wrong!!

they've change/ renovated the Mahogany room since I've been there last, so there's nomore walkup bar, you have to order your drink from one of the waiters, but meh still free!

I play poker at the cas now and then.. haven't been for a while though. I loved playing poker in vegas, but the competition is a lot better than in Aus! The free drinks help though :D

Well, in a nutshell.

On your first roll your aiming for a 7 or 11.

If it lands on (say 5 instead) on your next roll, you must roll a 5 to win, but 7 is now your enemy and you 'crap out' if you roll a 7.

Everyone including you can bet on numbers, combinations, and whatnot during your go, including betting against you to say you will 'crap out'

Because your aiming for a 5 you keep rolling until you get a 5, or a 7, everyone is betting on the in between rolls.

You get alot of angry people when there's $1k plus on the table and you crap out.

Pretty much there's a 16% chance you will roll a 7 with any roll, there are only 1 way to roll a 2 or 12.

Play free online craps and you will get the gist of it, it's easy.

Roulette, black jack and pontoon.!!

Love it and only been going frequently recently but it's just an awesome atmosphere on a busy night and love having a few drinks and some laughs at the tables.

Wanna start playing poker but too much straight face crap and kinda sapps the fun outta it at the cas, bit different when your playing on ya pool table with ya mates.

Surprised noone has said the pokies..

No longer understand why people trek to the cas to play them, most boring bullshit vibe killing room there.

Mate at uni played poker all the time, was making $1000+/wk.

If I have a meeting in the city I often park at Crown and walk through the casino, there are people in there at 9 in the morning going hard :Drugs:

^Good work.

I personally don't like blowing all of my hard earned wages.

Except for when I'm in Thailand in a months time.

Any casinos there?

I want to ask where the money comes from but at the same time I want to call bulls**t...

I'm a roulette fan... usually just play small so I can buy heaps of piss and have fun... my system is lets just say you use $10... put $1 on 10 numbers and you have a pretty good chance of it landing on something if it lands you get $32 from what I'm aware of... not a fan of gambling... there's something about it that seems so depresso...

I've worked at the Casino in Hobart for seven years, and am currently training to deal Blackjack and Pontoon. So if any one has any questions about tables or gaming machines ask away!

We're learning to count cards at the moment which is rather dull :P

Black Jack all the way. Usually start with $500 and go from there. Average bet is $25 or $50 but if I've just lost 3 hands, I tend to throw down $125 on the next bet.

Anyone know what minimum buy in is at crown? For texas holdem ?

Want start playing once i finish my exams, cause i kill it on facebook  and at poker nights between mates

My game plan is to buy in at minimum (eg: $15) play passively untill i've won $30 in total, take my orig 15 out (so i have broken even if i lose big) then go nuts playing agressivly
